FAQ

The Syria Trust for Development is a non-profit non-governmental organisation NGO established in April 2007.

It works independently as well as in partnership with government, the private sector and international organisations on development-related projects throughout Syria.

SHABAB activities are funded through a vast collection of resources including individual donors, private sector companies and governmental organizations.

It must be noted that private sector offers a great contribution for continuing the project activities.

SHABAB is essentially non-profit and it expands the opportunity of using its services for all young people who are between the ages of 15-29. Thus its services are free.

Mainly, SHABAB does not believe in providing direct job opportunities but it expands the opportunity for young people to have a better future through developing their key skills and providing them with information that helps them get into the job market, in addition it helps them to discover their interests and directs them towards a career that is suitable for their talents.  However it is working to link the beneficiaries of its programs to the job market based on available opportunities and providing those opportunities through a network of relations between SHABAB and its partners.

Concerning “know about business” program, it is applied through schools and chosen institutions in collaboration with Ministry of Education.

The “business awareness” program is also applied in schools or local institutions or at any point that has a youth group but concerning “Business experience” program, SHABAB calls the youth and those wishing to attend can call us if they are between the ages of 19-29.

“Business clinic” is currently only applied in Damascus and it is a consulting center that the youth can visit to use its services during the week except Fridays and Saturdays. We also plan to enter the program into new districts.
